Week seven pitted the red hot Picayunes versus the solid Ice-9, with
the results leaving both managers shaking their heads at their
befuttled rotations and tough hitting. Amsterdam's "slugglers," led
by Jay Buhner's 5 dingers, whalloped 14 HR's. However, this was the
only offensive stat they could take from Albania's hot scrappers, as
the Picayunes combined for a .337 BA and .321 RP. Albert Belle
continued to plug along, having 3 HR, 11 RBI and a .455 BA for the
week. Pitching, however, was a real battle of futility, as both
staffs had members looking better suited for a farm team, and we're
not even talking the minors. Only one win came of either lineups, and
that came from an Ice-9 Reliever. Yuck. Petkovsek didn't start,
leaving Kamieniecki to start instead. David Wells didn't start for
the Picayunes (Gout in his big toe, for crying out loud). Wakefield
started for him. Albania pulls it out 6-2.
